For example, The Energy Saving Trust estimates if everyone in the UK switched to an A-rated condensing boiler and better managed their usage, it would save around 6.7 million tonnes of CO2. Smart meters are one government initiative aiming to reduce energy use. These meters can help increase our awareness of energy use and encourage us to take control of how much we use. It helps your wallet. As mentioned above, an energy-efficient unit, such as a new boiler, can provide the same amount of heat or hot water while using less energy. As well as helping the planet, this also helps your bank balance because your energy bills will drop and you’ll save money.
